JetAudio vs PowerAmp (Android)

poweramp and jetaudio logos

The greatest audio players one can ever get his hands on for Android are JetAudio and PowerAmp. The two have been in existence for a very long period of time and so far they have maintained their stand as the greatest of all time. I like JetAudio very much and you can often see me play some music on my android just to feel the beats... hope you get the vibes!

There are several options available to tune it up, I mean tune the beats up and the bass. Apart from Equalizer, you get a nice set of other sound enhancements such as AM3D, Bongiovi DPS, and Crystalizer. These all makes the sound great and the bass pure out of the studio. I very much like JetAudio because of its several ways of tuning the beats up with its several audio enhancements that do all the magic.

Now, let me talk about PowerAmp. To be quite honest, PowerAmp is one of the best until recently when they released version 3 of their app. Simplicity is out of the equation since the release of version 3. There are now many settings that you'll have to set up before you can use it. Of course, the version 2 is still available on the Play Store.

It has only equalizer, which can be tweak to get the beats turned up. Other audio settings such as Virtualizer and Reverb are also available if you are determined on getting the best for what you paid for. Both apps are not free apps on the Play Store. If you ask me which of the two I prefer, I will chose JetAudio. But PowerAmp is also good in some instances, for example, navigating between playlist is very easy.

The interface is simple enough to understand, and when launching the app for the first, there is a guide that will lead you through the process of setting it up, something you won't find on JetAudio. But in visuals, JetAudio is pleasing. Both apps support visualization, but JetAudio does it more better in this aspect. There are tons of visualization available compared to maybe three or four that are available on PowerAmp.

In conclusion, JetAudio is better than PowerAmp. I'm not a fan of the new PowerAmp V3 interface with its complexity. The V2 is well built but is now considered old. JetAudio does the best in mixing features with simplicity without applying much gimmicks and random graphics to make its app wow! to make it loud! It all boils down to your choice in the end.
